Project Fellow

Project Title  :  “Human-wildlife conflict resolution mechanism in the Indian Himalayan Region: Risk assessment, Prediction, and Management through Research and Community engagement (NMHS-HWC Project)

No. of Posts :  02

Qualification  :  Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Sciences/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Environmental Sciences or Management/ Biodiversity and Conservation/ with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University. Candidates with two years field research experience will be considered for Senior Project Fellow (SPF).

Desirable : Experience /interest in: field data collection for mammals/people-wildlife interface issues; abundance estimation and analysis; behavioural studies; Remote sensing & GIS and working with communities to reduce conflicts

Emoluments :  Rs. 16000 (JRF) OR Rs. 18000 (SRF) HRA as per WII rules

Age Limit :  Up to 28 years for JPF and up to 32 years for SPF as on the date of interview.

Qualification  :  Ph.D., in Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Botany / Forestry Environmental Science or Management or related subjects. (Candidates who have submitted their thesis and are also eligible to apply). OR Post Graduate Degree in Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Botany / Forestry /Environmental Science or Management or related subjects with at least four years of research experience

Desirable : Experience in the Himalayan region, working with stakeholders, and proven abilities of writing skills

Emoluments :  Rs 48,000/- month (Consolidated)

Age Limit :  Not exceeding 40 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.

Qualification :  PhD. in Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Forestry /Ecology/Environmental Sciences/GIS-Remote Sensing OR Master’s degree in Wildlife Science /Zoology/ Forestry /Ecology/Environmental Sciences/GIS-Remote Sensing with four years of working experience in relevant field.

Desirable :  Preference will be given to candidates having experience in status survey of wildlife species, good communication, writing and analytical skills as well as GISRS knowledge.

Emoluments :  Rs. 54,000 + allowances

Age Limit :  Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of interview. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories may be relaxed as per the rules.
