Job Description
Applications are invited for recruitment of two (02) Project linked persons (one for each of) on purely temporary basis to work on the following research projects titled (1) Robust and Minimum Divergence Statistical Inference and (2) Outlier-Robust Methods in Biostatistics and Bioinformatics using Density Power Divergence in the Interdisciplinary Statistical Research Unit Of the Institute, Kolkata.
Qualification: (for both projects) Essential: (i) B. Tech/M.Sc./ M.C.A. in Computer Science/ ECE (or equivalent) having strong experience in programming with R/ MAT LAB and having at least one full course in Statistics/ Probabilityat the minimum Of undergraduate level, OR (ii) M.Sc. in Statistics with strong experience in programming with R/MATLAB.
Desirable: Background knowledge in robust statistical inference (for both projects) and knowledge in bioinformatics (for the second project).
Pay (for both projects): A consolidated pay between 04000/- to 05000/- per month (Consolidated) without any additional benefit, depending on the qualification and experience of the selected candidate.
Tenure of appointment (for both projects): Initially till 31 March 2021 from the date of his/her joining the institute which may be extended later/terminated earlier depending upon availability of the funds, requirement Of the project and performance of the candidate.
Number of Post: 02.
Age Limit:Should not exceed 35 years as on 01 July 2020. Usual relaxation for SC/ST/OBC/differently abled and exceptional candidate(s).
