Project Scientist/ Project Fellow/ Project Interns  job Position in Wildlife Institute of India (WII) 

Project Title  :  “Assessment of impacts of the proposed Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway, Maharashtra, Samriddhi Corridor on Wildlife values & measures recommended to mitigate negative impacts"

Project Scientist – Ecology

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  Masters’ Degree in Life Sciences / Forestry/ Environmental Sciences/ Statistics/ Zoology/Botany/ Agriculture or related fields with at least THREE YEARS experience. OR Ph.D. in any of the above fields

Desirable : Demonstrated experience/ aptitude in a) spatial analysis and ecological modelling, b) statistical analysis, c) project design and coordination of multi-disciplinary project team and field data collection c) research publications in peer-reviewed national/international journals

Emoluments : Rs. 54,000/- Plus admissible allowances

Age Limit :  Not exceeding 34 years as on the last date of application submission. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories shall be relaxed as per the rules.

Project Scientist – RS & GIS

No. of Post  :  01

Qualification  :  Masters’ Degree in Geoinformatics/ Geography/ Geology/ Computer Applications or related fields with at least THREE YEARS experience. OR Ph.D. in any of the above fields

Desirable : Demonstrated experience/ aptitude in a) spatial analysis and ecological modelling, b) management of spatial database, Remote Sensing and GIS analysis, c) statistical analysis, d) project design and coordination of multi-disciplinary project team and field data collection, and e) research publications in peer-reviewed national/international journals

Emoluments : Rs. 54,000/- Plus admissible allowances

Project Scientist – Sustainable Development

Qualification  :  Masters’ Degree in Sustainable development or related fields with at least THREE YEARS experience. OR Ph.D. in the above field.

Desirable : Demonstrated experience/ aptitude in a) sustainable green infrastructure, b) natural resources, c) environmental studies, d) statistical analysis, e) project design and coordination of multi-disciplinary project team and field data collection, and f) research publications in peer-reviewed national/international journals

Emoluments : Rs. 54,000/- Plus admissible allowances

Project Fellow – Ecology

Qualification  :   Masters’ Degree in Wildlife Science/ Botany/ Zoology/ Forestry/ Life Science/ Agriculture/Environmental Sciences/ Genetics / Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Bio –chemistry with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable : Candidate(s) with experience in sampling design and animal abundance estimation will be preferred. Prior experience of ecological and molecular work with non-invasive samples is desirable. Knowledge of GIS, GPS, and Remote Sensing is desirable. Should be able to undertake arduous field work under rigorous conditions.

Project Fellow – RS & GIS

Qualification  :   Masters’ Degree in Geoinformatics/ Geography/ Geology/ Computer Applications or related fields with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks from a recognized University.

Desirable : Demonstrated experience/ aptitude in a) spatial analysis and ecological modelling, b) management of spatial database, Remote Sensing and GIS analysis, c) statistical analysis, and d) report writing

Emoluments : Rs. 25,000/- Plus admissible allowances

Age Limit :   Not exceeding 28 years as on the last date of application submission. Upper age limit in case of applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC categories shall be relaxed as per the rules.

Project Interns - Interns will be appointed based on requirements of the project

Qualification  :   M.Sc. in Life Sciences/ Geoinformatics/ Geography/ Geology/ Computer Applications/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology/ Sustainable development or related fields

Desirable : Preference will be given to candidates having experience related to the project

Emoluments : Rs. 8,000/- (Consolidated)

Age Limit :   Not exceeding 28 years as on the last date of application submission.

Location of Project Site :  Proposed Nagpur-Mumbai Super Communication Expressway or any other site identified for the implementation of the project.

Recruitment Process :  The Project Personnel (Indian Nationals) for the project will be recruited through an online test followed by a personal interview. The online test for these positions will be conducted at four centres namely (i) Mumbai, ii) Pune, iii) Nagpur and iv) Dehradun. The address of the centre(s) will be communicated to candidates through their Admit Card.

Written Examination and Interview : (i) The entrusted online agency will issue “Admit Card” to eligible candidates which can be downloaded from web-link provided. The admit card will have details of Examination Centre, Date and Time of online test, likely to be held at 1430 hrs on 30th June 2018 at four centres wherein applicants will appear in the written test. Applicants will make their own arrangement for travel and accommodation for appearing in online test.
