Project Trainee (Mechanical) recruitment in Indian Institute of Astrophysics on temporary basis
Post No.: IIA/14/2017/01
No. of Post : Two
Qualification : A Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Production Engineering from a University/Institution recognised by the UGC/AICTE with a minimum of 60% marks or equivalent grade. Desirable basic knowledge: Manufacturing processes, Mechanical drawings, Measuring tools like Vernier Calliper, Micrometer, etc, Microsoft Office and CAD tools like Solidworks.
Remuneration : Rs. 20,000/- per month (inclusive of all)
Age Limit : 26 years
Place of Posting : Bengaluru
Job Description: The selected candidate will be a member of the India TMT team. Responsibilities
include but not limited to:
i) Conducting study of production documents like mechanical drawings, process sheets,
inspection reports, etc.
ii) Preparation and Review of reports based on the study of the above mentioned documents.
A positive performance in this role will lead to increased responsibilities. Job may require
frequent travels within India.

The Indian Institute of Astrophysics is
a premier institute devoted to research in astronomy, astrophysics and
related physics. It traces its origins back to an observatory set up in
1786 at Madras which from the year 1792 began to formally function at
its Nungambakkam premises as the Madras Observatory. In 1899, the
observatory moved to Kodaikanal. In the year 1971, the Kodaikanal
Observatory became an autonomous society, the Indian Institute of
Astrophysics.
