The Primary Responsibility Of A Proposal Development Engineer Is To Develop Proposals For Siemens’s Customer/Client Base Encompassing The Following:

· Review the Client’s Request for Quotation (RFQ)

· Prepare complete technical proposal, including scope of supply, P&ID’s, data-sheets, performance curves, comments to specifications, and inspection & test plans, leveraging the proprietary tool suites.

· Perform equipment selections including drivers and auxiliary systems using selection tools as applicable for the product line

· Review and comment to the Customer’s Technical Specifications with support as needed from Operations engineering

· Interface with multiple operations to calculate project costs, schedules and scope of supply

· Prepare Buyout RFQs with participation of the regional supply chain coordinator in the proposal process.

· Engage with major sub-Suppliers to create mutually beneficial Client solutions, including technical offer and alignment of commercial requirements

· Calculate the Overall Cost, cash flow and Project financial summaries

· Identify execution and technical risks, and work with subject matter experts to prepare mitigation strategies.

· Maintain the proposal databases as appropriate

· Directs integration of technical activities, products and services, including vendor supplied equipment/services in regional proposals in a timely manner to meet proposal deadlines

· Assist the Project Development Managers in developing Technical and Commercial strategies

· Participate in the development of quantified Value Propositions

· Contribute to the Approval process for compliance with established regional policies, including proposal completeness, accuracy, degree of configuration, cash flow analyses, profit margin screens risk assessment forms (execution, commercial, legal), solution configuration, on-time submittals, etc

· Insure that the Technical and Commercial proposals in response to client inquiries meet Siemens’s standards for quality, completeness and timeliness

· Identify cost- or time-saving opportunities inside the proposal development process

· Contribute or lead Regional Review Boards (RRB’s), providing input on technical and value advantages of Siemens product and service offerings.

· Coordinate and participate in client clarification meetings and discussions

· Understand the competition’s products & offerings

· Understand the client’s applications and processes

· Prepare and submit in a timely manner the Pre-Release notification and the Order Entry packages to the manufacturing Operations

· Participate in internal kick-off meetings and client kick-off meetings

· Support the Proposal Development Manager with project or product presentations

· Participate in design reviews, and post job analysis for continuous improvement of proposals, solutions, and tools used in their creation

· Conducts business affairs with the highest standards of ethics and integrity

· Proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel and MS Outlook, select engineering programs

· Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills. Proficiency in spoken and written English language, bilingual & international experience a plus

· Work well with others in a team environment

· Domestic and international travel is required to support training, project presentations, bid clarification and project kick off meetings. Must be able to travel up to 20%

· Problem solving and critical thinking skills necessary.

· Minimum of 5 years of industry experience with a concentration in turbo- machinery or related process equipment

· Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering Degree from an accredited higher education institution or equivalent work experience
