Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Prototype Development: Build, assemble, and test early iterations of products based on engineering drawings or CAD models.
Vendor Coordination: Source components, negotiate costs, and manage the supply chain for raw materials and custom parts.
Quality Assurance: Inspect fabricated parts against blueprint specifications, document defects, and recommend design adjustments.
Timeline Management: Coordinate between design teams, manufacturing leads, and suppliers to meet project deadlines.
Documentation: Maintain logs on rework, costs, and design changes in enterprise resource planning (ERP) or product lifecycle management (PLM) software. [1, 2, 3, 4]
Core Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
Technical Skills: Familiarity with 3D modeling/CAD software, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), and MS Office.
Soft Skills: Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication.
Experience: 0 to 3+ years in a prototyping, product development, or manufacturing environment
