Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) invites applications for the position of Superintendent of Home
Recruitment To 04 Posts Of Superintendent Home (Group-B) In The Department Of Social Security And Development Of Women And Children, Government Of Punjab.
i. The Punjab Public Service Commission invites Online Application Forms from eligible candidates for recruitment to 04 Posts of Superintendent Home (Group-B) in the Department of Social Security and Development of Women and Children, Govt. of Punjab.
1. Position: Superintendent of Home
2. No of Post: 04
3. Initial Pay: Rs. 35,400/-
4. Essential Qualifications:
i. Should possess a Master`s Degree in any of the Social Science subjects viz. Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Economics or Anthropology from a recognized university or institutions
ii. Should have passed Punjabi of Matric or its equivalent Standard.
iii. Provided further that where the award of Defence Service Personnel, who is a bonafide resident of Punjab State, is appointed by direct appointment, he shall have to pass an examination of Punjabi Language equivalent to Matriculation Standard or he shall have to qualify a test conducted by the Language Wing of the Department of Education of Punjab Government within a period of two years from the date of his appointment
iv. Provided further that where a War Hero, who has been discharged from defense services or paramilitary forces on account of disability suffered by him, or his widow or dependent member of his family, is appointed under the instructions issued on this behalf by the Government, the person so appointed will not be required to possess afore said knowledge of Punjabi language

Candidates should not be below 18 years and above 37 years of age as on 01/01/2022

In the wake of the Partition, the Punjab Public Service Commission resurged in February 1948, at Shimla with its revised jurisdiction extending over the then province of East Punjab. Following the merger of the States of Punjab and Pepsu, it shifted to Patiala on Nov.1st,1956. On 1stNov1966, its territorial jurisdiction again decreased due to the formation of the States of Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
