Job Overview
A QA Engineer - Intern plays a key role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of software applications before they are delivered to users. As an intern, you will learn and contribute to the software testing process, work closely with developers, product managers, and senior QA engineers, and gain hands-on experience in manual and automation testing.
This internship is ideal for students, fresh graduates, or entry-level professionals who want to start a career in software quality assurance and gain exposure to real-world testing tools, techniques, and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities
1. Software Testing & Quality Assurance

Assist in manual testing of web, mobile, and desktop applications.

Execute test cases and document results.

Help in preparing test scenarios, test scripts, and test data.

Identify and report bugs, defects, and inconsistencies in applications.

Support the QA team in functional, regression, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
2. Automation Testing Support

Learn and practice automation testing tools such as Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, or Cypress.

Help in writing basic automation test scripts under supervision.

Understand automation frameworks and contribute to maintaining test scripts.
3. Collaboration & Teamwork

Work closely with developers to understand system requirements and identify potential defects.

Collaborate with product managers to ensure applications meet client specifications.

Attend daily stand-ups, team meetings, and QA reviews to stay updated on project progress.
4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain detailed records of test plans, test cases, and testing progress.

Log and track bugs using bug-tracking tools such as JIRA, Bugzilla, or Mantis.

Prepare status reports for senior QA engineers and project managers.
5. Learning & Skill Development

Learn the fundamentals of software testing life cycle (STLC) and software development life cycle (SDLC).

Get hands-on training in automation frameworks and testing methodologies.

Stay updated with the latest QA tools, technologies, and industry best practices.
Required Technical Skills
Core QA Skills

Basic knowledge of software testing principles and QA methodologies.

Understanding of manual testing techniques such as functional, regression, usability, and compatibility testing.

Familiarity with bug tracking and test case management tools.
Automation Testing (Preferred but Not Mandatory)

Exposure to tools like Selenium, TestNG, JUnit, Cypress, or Appium.

Basic understanding of automation frameworks and scripting.
Programming Knowledge (Optional but Advantageous)

Familiarity with Java, Python, PHP, or JavaScript for writing simple test scripts.

Tools & Technologies (Preferred)
