Job Description
POSITION SUMMARY:
The company seeks a detail‑oriented and business‑focused UAT / Functional Tester to support User Acceptance Testing for enterprise digital applications. This role will work closely with Business Analysts, Product Managers, and business stakeholders to validate that system functionality meets documented business requirements and acceptance criteria.
The ideal candidate is a self‑starter with strong understanding of business processes, experience in functional and UAT testing, and the ability to use AI tools to accelerate test case creation, scenario identification, and defect analysis
The tester should be comfortable working in fast‑paced Agile environments, supporting overlapping releases and UAT cycles.
The individual is expected to understand business needs, translate requirements into functional test scenarios, execute UAT, manage defects, and support business sign‑off to ensure high‑quality releases.
JOB FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Examples below:
· Collaborate with Business Analysts, Product managers, and business users to understand business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
· Review user stories, and acceptance criteria to ensure test coverage aligns with business intent.
· Design and execute UAT test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts based on real business workflows.
· Perform functional, end‑to‑end, and regression testing from a user perspective.
· Validate business rules, calculations, data accuracy, and system behavior.
· Facilitate and support UAT execution with business users, including walkthroughs and clarifications.
· Log, track, and manage defects with clear business impact descriptions in Jira
· Coordinate with the delivery team for defect fixed and re‑test fixes and perform regression testing to confirm defect resolution.
· Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
· Prepare and maintain UAT documentation including test cases, execution results, defect logs, and UAT sign‑off artifacts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have the following education and/or experience:
· 5+ years of experience in functional testing / UAT testing.
· Strong experience validating applications against business requirements and acceptance criteria.
· Hands‑on experience creating test cases from BRDs, user stories, and process flows.
· Experience supporting business users during UAT cycles.
· Familiarity with defect tracking and test management tools such as JIRA, Zephyr.
· Solid understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies.
· Experience in banking, mortgage, lending, or financial services is a strong plus.
· Strong communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
· (Preferred) Experience in the US Mortgage lifecycle (Origination, Processing, Underwriting, and Closing).
· (Preferred) Familiarity with Encompass LOS, Blend, or other mortgage-related tools.
