Job Description
- Responsible for ensuring the standard of proofs according to the prescribed job standards and requirements.
- Checking of mails, special instructions and global corrections
- Checking of Trim size and Margins
- Checking of Zero error zones (Running head, Source line, Page continuity, Foot note numbering FM (i-iv))
- Word by word reading have to be done for the first four pages in the FM part
- TOC (checked against body matter)
- LOC to be matched against chapter opening pages
- Checking as per Style aspects/specification provided for Chapter 1 alone and for the rest of the Chapters Visual Check has to be done
- Checking of Para beginning/ending/ indentation
- Checking the continuity of Heading numbering (as per the Job sheet)
- Checking of Alignments and spacing in Lists
- Checking of Mathematical expressions/Special characters against the Author Original
- All the queries/Query Nos. have been checked for correctness of both the text and sequential numbering
- Correct caption text is attributed to relevant table/figure has been checked
- Style for column heads, above/below rules and alignment of text/number in table have been checked
- Checking of Image for Correctness/cutting.
- Check for Figure part characters (available, correct, and correspond to figure caption)
- Color images & B/W strip (if applicable) have been checked against the CHESS form/Job sheet
