Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Inspection of Incoming Materials:
-
Check raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies for quality compliance as per drawings and specifications.

Use measuring tools like Vernier calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and dial indicators to verify dimensions.

Record results in inspection checklists or ERP systems and report any deviations to the supervisor or purchase team.

In-Process Inspection:
-
Monitor quality during the manufacturing process to ensure adherence to operational standards and tolerances.
-
Conduct in-process checks at various stages like machining, welding, and assembly.
-
Coordinate with production operators to correct deviations immediately and ensure minimum rejection.

Final Inspection:
-
Perform visual and dimensional inspection on finished goods.
-
Ensure all finished components meet customer specifications and internal standards before dispatch.

Verify the completeness of documents such as inspection reports, certificates, and test results.

Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain inspection reports, quality records, and rejection data as per ISO or company standards.

Fill out NCRs (Non-Conformance Reports) and follow up for corrective actions.

Participate in internal quality audits and assist in maintaining compliance with QMS (Quality Management System).

Tool and Equipment Handling:
-
Calibrate and maintain measuring instruments on a regular basis.

Ensure that inspection tools are in good working condition and report any malfunctions immediately.

Handle gauges, hardness testers, surface finish testers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM) if applicable.

Coordination and Communication:
-
Coordinate with cross-functional teams like Production, Stores, Design, and Purchase for smooth quality operations.
-
Escalate quality issues to the supervisor and support root cause analysis and problem-solving activities.

Provide feedback to the production team for process improvements.

Safety and Compliance:
-
Follow all safety guidelines and ensure a clean and safe working environment.
-
Adhere to company policies, quality standards, and statutory regulations.
-
Participate in 5S, Kaizen, and other continuous improvement initiatives.
