Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Visual and Dimensional Inspection
-
Perform visual inspections of parts for defects such as surface irregularities, scratches, cracks, or incomplete finishing.

Conduct dimensional checks using precision measurement tools such as vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, height gauges, dial indicators, and CMM (Coordinate Measuring Machine).

Compare parts against engineering drawings, product specifications, and tolerance standards to ensure compliance.
2. In-Process and Final Audits
-
Conduct in-process inspections at various stages of manufacturing to ensure compliance with quality plans and control charts.

Perform final audits of finished products before dispatch or delivery to customers.

Verify proper assembly, fit, and function of parts, especially in critical automotive systems like brakes, suspension, engine components, or electrical assemblies.
3. Sampling and Testing
-
Follow sampling procedures based on AQL (Acceptable Quality Level) or customer-defined criteria.

Carry out functional tests, torque checks, hardness tests, and other mechanical property assessments as needed.

Record and analyze inspection results to detect trends or patterns in defect types and sources.
4. Documentation and Reporting
-
Complete inspection reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and audit checklists with accurate and timely information.

Maintain proper records of inspections, tests, and measurements for traceability and compliance purposes.

Communicate findings and recommendations to production, quality, and engineering teams.
5. Defect Analysis and Follow-up
-
Tag and segregate non-conforming or defective parts and initiate appropriate corrective action.

Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone Analysis).

Monitor the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) over time.
6. Compliance with Quality Standards
-
Ensure all inspection activities comply with industry quality standards such as IATF 16949, ISO 9001, or OEM-specific requirements.

Support internal and external audits by preparing records and assisting auditors with information and documentation.
7. Safety and Cleanliness
-
Follow all safety guidelines and ensure that inspections do not interfere with production safety or workflow.

Keep the inspection area, tools, and gauges clean, calibrated, and organized.
