Job Description
Job Summary:
The Quality Tester – Production Line is responsible for ensuring that all products manufactured during the assigned shift meet the company’s quality standards and regulatory requirements. This includes performing in-process quality checks, supervising the entire production line for quality consistency, completing necessary documentation, and acting as the Quality Control Incharge during the shift.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, a basic understanding of quality testing procedures, and the ability to work efficiently during long shifts. This role is essential for maintaining product integrity, customer satisfaction, and compliance with safety and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Quality Testing on Production Line

Perform in-line quality checks at various stages of the production process.

Monitor key parameters such as dimensions, weight, texture, finish, packaging, labeling, and product integrity.

Immediately identify and report any non-conformities or defects to the line supervisor or Quality Manager.
2. In-Process Quality Control

Ensure all raw materials and semi-finished products used during the shift meet required quality specifications.

Perform random sampling and spot checks at critical control points throughout the production process.

Use basic tools or equipment (e.g., gauges, scales, thermometers) to verify compliance.
3. Shift Quality Incharge Responsibilities

Take full ownership of quality control for the assigned 8 AM to 8 PM shift.

Work closely with production staff, machine operators, and line supervisors to maintain smooth operations.

Ensure that all corrective actions are promptly taken in case of any quality deviation.
4. Documentation & Reporting

Maintain accurate and timely records of quality tests, batch numbers, inspection results, and any deviations.

Fill out all shift-related quality documentation, including checklists, inspection logs, and non-compliance reports.

Submit reports to the Quality Control Manager at the end of each shift.
5. Process Improvement Support

Assist in identifying recurring quality issues and contribute suggestions for process improvements.

Cooperate during audits or inspections by internal teams or external regulatory bodies.
6. Cleanliness & Hygiene (For Food or FMCG Industries)

Ensure cleanliness and hygiene on the production line, especially in sectors like food, pharmaceuticals, or personal care.

Monitor compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and hygiene protocols.
7. Team Coordination

Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding quality concerns, process updates, or any unusual observations.

Train new line staff or junior workers in basic quality inspection procedures when required.
Work Conditions:

Shift Duration: 12 hours (8:00 AM to 8:00 PM)

Days Off: Sundays only

Overtime: No overtime available

Food Availability: Meals provided on-site or subsidized

Work Location: On-site production floor with constant standing/walking and quality monitoring
