Quantity Surveyor -2 Positions
Electrical CAD Civil CAD Must Know the CAD Skills
Job Role : To design and draw the structure with the plans and execute them in the site to close the Bill of Lading
Experience Fresher- Min 1Yr of Experience
Location : Chennai
Key Responsibilities:

Cost Estimation and Quantity Take-off:
-
Accurately estimate the quantities of materials, labor, and services required for electrical and civil works.

Analyze architectural and engineering drawings to calculate quantities and prepare BOQs (Bill of Quantities).

Assess cost impacts of design and site changes, and update cost estimates accordingly.
-
Work with procurement teams to source materials at competitive rates while maintaining quality standards.

CAD Design and Drafting:
-
Use Electrical CAD and Civil CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) to develop detailed engineering drawings.
-
Prepare layout plans, wiring diagrams, and structural details in coordination with design teams.

Modify existing CAD drawings based on design changes or site feedback.
-
Ensure CAD drawings are accurate, complete, and aligned with applicable engineering codes and standards.

Site Coordination and Execution:
-
Collaborate with site engineers and contractors to interpret drawings and ensure correct implementation on-site.

Conduct periodic site visits to measure work progress and verify completed quantities.
-
Ensure construction work is aligned with project specifications, design intent, and budget.

Identify potential design or execution issues early and suggest practical solutions.

Billing and Documentation:

Prepare detailed measurement sheets for billing and verification.
-
Assist in preparing and finalizing the Bill of Lading (BOL) for materials delivered and used on-site.

Verify contractor bills and ensure that all work is completed as per the drawings and specifications.

Maintain proper records of all material transactions, delivery notes, and invoices for audit and reporting purposes.

Budget Control and Reporting:

Monitor project budgets against actual spending and report variances.

Help prepare monthly and quarterly project cost reports.

Provide feedback on cost-saving opportunities or risk areas to the project manager or senior management.

Track material usage and wastage to control costs and ensure accountability.

Compliance and Standards:

Ensure that all designs, site work, and procurement comply with local regulations, codes, and safety standards.

Coordinate with quality control teams to ensure high standards of workmanship and compliance with approved designs.

Stay updated on changes in building codes, material specifications, and market rates.
