Assistant Professor Job Vacancy in Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (Part-Time and Contract basis)
Subject : History
Qualification : (1) (a) A good academic record with minimum 55% of marks at the master's level in the related subject and (b) qualifying the National Eligibility Test (NET), or an accredited test (State Level Eligibility Test – SLET/SET). Provided, however, that the candidates, who are or have been awarded Ph.D. degree in compliance with the "University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of Ph.D. Degree), Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from the requirement of the minimum eligibility condition of the NET/SLET/SET for recruitment and appointment as an Assistant Professors. (2) A relaxation of 5% shall be provided at the graduate and at master's level for the SC/ST/Differently-abled (Physically and visually handicapped) categories for the purposes of eligibility and for assessing good academic record. (3) Relevant grade which is regarded as equivalent to 55%, wherever the grading system is followed, by a recognized University shall also be considered eligible

Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law (RGNUL), Punjab, was established by the State Legislature of Punjab by passing the Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Punjab Act, 2006 (Punjab Act No. 12 of 2006). The Act incorporated a University of Law of national stature in Punjab, thereby fulfilling the need for a Centre of Excellence in legal education in the modern era of globalization and liberalization. RGNUL started functioning from its Headquarters-Mohindra Kothi, The Mall, Patiala w.e.f. 26 May 2006. The University acquired approval of the Bar Council of India (BCI) in July 2006. The University also got registered with the University Grants Commission (UGC), New Delhi under Section 2(f) of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956 and has been declared fit to obtain grant from the (UGC) under Section 12-B of the UGC Act, 1956.
