Job Summary
The Receptionist – Laundry & Dry Cleaning Store is responsible for welcoming customers, receiving laundry and dry-cleaning orders, tagging and recording garments, issuing bills, and managing store operations efficiently. This role requires excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate with back-end laundry operations for timely delivery of orders.
In addition to handling customer interactions, the receptionist will act as the store in-charge, overseeing daily operations, ensuring accurate documentation, monitoring inventory, following up on pending orders, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in the store.
Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Reception and Service

Greet customers politely and make them feel welcome.

Listen to customer requirements regarding laundry or dry-cleaning services.

Provide information about services, pricing, delivery times, and special garment care.

Order Receiving and Documentation

Carefully inspect garments brought in by customers for stains, damages, or special instructions.

Tag each garment with a unique identification number to avoid mix-ups.

Create detailed order entries in the store’s system or order register.

Issue bills/receipts to customers and collect payments if applicable.

Order Processing Coordination

Pass collected garments and order details to the processing section/laundry unit.

Ensure special instructions (e.g., delicate fabric handling, stain removal, dry-clean only) are clearly communicated to the laundry staff.

Order Tracking and Follow-Up

Keep track of ongoing orders and their expected delivery dates.

Call customers to inform them when orders are ready for pickup or delivery.

Follow up on delayed or pending orders to ensure timely completion.

Store Operations Management

Act as store in-charge, ensuring smooth daily operations.

Monitor and manage inventory of detergents, packaging materials, and tags.

Maintain proper storage and organization of garments awaiting delivery.

Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of the store’s reception and garment storage areas.

Billing and Payment Management

Prepare accurate bills based on the number of garments, service type, and extra charges (if any).

Collect cash, digital payments, or card transactions.

Maintain daily sales and billing records for accounting purposes.

Customer Issue Handling

Address customer complaints or concerns professionally.

Coordinate with laundry staff to resolve issues such as missing items, stains not removed, or damages.

Prepare daily or weekly reports on orders received, completed, and pending.
