Job Summary:
A Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing high-quality patient care, administering medications, assisting doctors, and ensuring the well-being of patients in hospitals, clinics, or home healthcare settings. The role requires strong clinical skills, compassionate patient care, and adherence to medical protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Assessment
- Monitor and record patient vitals (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, etc.).
- Assess patient conditions and report concerns to physicians.
- Assist with daily activities such as feeding, mobility, and hygiene (if required).
2. Medication Administration & Treatment
- Administer prescribed medications, injections, IV fluids, and oxygen therapy.
- Manage wound care, dressings, and post-surgical recovery.
- Follow hospital protocols for drug administration and dosage calculations.
3. Assisting Doctors & Medical Procedures
- Support physicians during examinations, procedures, and minor surgeries.
- Prepare and sterilize medical instruments before use.
- Collect and send laboratory samples for testing.
4. Emergency Care & Critical Response
- Provide immediate care in case of medical emergencies.
- Perform CPR and first aid procedures when needed.
- Assist in ICU, CCU, OT, and emergency wards (if applicable).
5. Patient Education & Family Support
- Educate patients and families about treatment plans, diet, and medications.
- Offer emotional support and counseling to patients dealing with chronic illnesses.
- Guide patients on post-discharge care and follow-up visits.
6. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate medical records, patient charts, and reports.
- Follow infection control guidelines and hospital hygiene standards.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and safety protocols.
