Job Description
Provide direct patient care based on the nursing process.

Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patients’ conditions.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians.

Assist in diagnostic tests and analyze results.

Maintain accurate patient records and ensure documentation is up to date.

Support and educate patients and their families about health conditions and post-hospital care.

Ensure infection control and hospital hygiene standards are maintained.

Work collaboratively with doctors, specialists, and other nurses.

Respond promptly to emergencies and follow code blue/red protocols.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care and Monitoring:

Assess, observe, and record vital signs, symptoms, and patient progress.
-
Provide direct nursing care to patients including wound care, hygiene assistance, mobility support, and dietary monitoring.

Administer medications and injections as prescribed by physicians.
-
Monitor for reactions or side effects to medications and treatments.
Clinical Procedures:
-
Assist physicians during rounds, diagnostic exams, and minor procedures.
-
Collect and prepare laboratory samples (e.g., blood, urine, swabs) for analysis.
-
Operate and monitor medical equipment such as IVs, ECG machines, and ventilators.
-
Perform catheterization, dressings, suctioning, and other routine clinical tasks within scope of practice.
Documentation and Reporting:
-
Maintain accurate patient records including medical history, treatment progress, and care plans.

Update charts and nursing notes using paper-based or electronic health record (EHR) systems.

Report critical changes in patient conditions promptly to the attending physician or supervisor.

Ensure timely handover and continuity of care across shifts.
Patient and Family Support:

Educate patients and their families on care plans, post-discharge instructions, medications, and health maintenance.

Provide emotional support to patients and families coping with illness or hospitalization.

Advocate for patient needs and act as a liaison between the patient, family, and medical team.
Infection Control and Safety:
-
Follow all hospital protocols for infection prevention and control (IPC), hygiene, and sterilization.

Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for patients.

Comply with safety procedures, emergency response plans, and health regulations.
Collaboration and Teamwork:

Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including doctors, physiotherapists, lab staff, and dieticians to provide holistic care.

Participate in ward rounds, team meetings, and clinical case discussions.

Support junior staff, interns, and nursing students through mentoring or training sessions as needed.
