Job Description
Key Responsibilities
A. Dispensing & Prescription Management

Accurately dispense medicines as per prescriptions issued by authorized doctors.

Verify the dosage, instructions, and potential drug interactions before issuing medicines.

Guide patients on the correct usage, side effects, and precautions for prescribed drugs.

Ensure that medicines are properly labeled with correct instructions and warnings.
B. Inventory & Stock Management

Maintain an updated stock of medicines, surgical items, and medical supplies.

Check for expiry dates and ensure safe disposal of expired medicines.

Monitor stock levels and coordinate with suppliers for timely replenishment.

Ensure proper storage conditions for drugs as per regulatory guidelines.
C. Compliance & Regulatory Responsibilities

Ensure adherence to pharmacy laws, medical regulations, and government guidelines.

Maintain proper documentation for narcotic drugs, controlled substances, and high-risk medications.

Keep updated with Drug Control Department notifications and legal compliances.
D. Patient Counseling & Support

Explain dosage schedules, side effects, and drug interactions to patients.

Provide guidance on over-the-counter (OTC) medications and healthcare products.

Assist in educating patients about healthy lifestyle practices and preventive care.
E. Coordination with Doctors & Healthcare Staff

Collaborate with doctors, nurses, and hospital staff for accurate medication administration.

Communicate any discrepancies in prescriptions and ensure corrective actions.

Provide insights into the availability of generic medicines and cost-effective alternatives.
