Research Assistant – Gender Center Project(s)

Description: The candidate will be expected to assist with projects for the Gender Center which will involve help with collecting andanalyzing large scale data sets.

Qualifications: Candidates with a Master’s/PhD in Economics, Statistics, Operations Research and Applied Mathematics are encouraged to apply.

Candidates with a Master’s Degree in Computer Science and related disciplines, who are interested in PhD in Management and other applied domains, are also welcome.

Eligibility: Candidates must have good knowledge of one of STATA / R and will ideally have prior experience handling large-scale data sets. Understanding of econometric techniques and good language skills will be given preference.As the members plan to conduct surveys in the coming period, those with prior survey experience are especially also encouraged to apply.

Selection Process: Selected applicants from the pool would be requested to submit a preliminary analysis of a curated data-set, along with the accompanying code (including estimation routines) to the Principal Investigator.

Location: The selected candidate(s) would be working from Ahmedabad. IIMA provides access to library and computer center for all Research Assistants. The campus is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad with proximity to several residential and commercial hubs. Candidates are expected to look for accommodation by themselves, outside the campus premises.

Compensation: Candidates are eligible for a monthly stipend anywhere between INR 25,000- INR 35,000 based on the prior qualifications and strength of the candidature.
