Research Associate (RA)

Name of the Discipline : Conservation, Sustainable use and equitable benefit sharing arising out of nature resources (Orchids) under National Mission on Himalayan Studies

No. of Post : 01

Qualification  :  Ph. D. in Life Sciences/ Agricultural Sciences with specialization in Botany/ Agriculture Botany/ Economic Botany/ Plant Genetic Resources/ Plant Taxonomy/ Biotechnology/ Horticulture.

Desirable : NET Qualified.

Emoluments : Rs.36,000/-per month + HRA

Age Limit :  Maximum 35 Years Relaxation in age as GOI rules.

Junior Research Fellow

Name of the Discipline : To carry out survey and GIS mapping of Orchids populations of Indian Himalayan under National Mission on Himalayan Studies

Qualification  :  Post Graduate in Remote Sensing/ GIS OR Any relevant Agriculture/ Forestry/ Basic Sciences with specialization in Remote sensing and GIS application as evidenced from thesis/ Publication/ Special paper or specialized courses along with NET/ Equivalent Certificate

Desirable : Working Experience in GIS applications.

Emoluments :  Rs.25 000/- per month + HRA

Age Limit :  28 years Relaxation in age as GOI rules.

The National Research Centre for Orchids was established on 5th October 1996 by the indian council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), New Delhi to organize program on improvement in productivity, quality and commercialization of orchids. The Sikkim state authorities handed over 22.19 acres of land belonging to Regional Agricultural Centre along witha all other assets to ICAR for establishment of the centre. In October 1997, the centre also took over the CPRS, Darjeeling form CPRI and established a campus for research on temperate orchids.
