Qualification  :  The position requires a Ph.D. in Physics, Atmospheric Sciences, Atmospheric Chemistry, or related fields from a recognized University/Institute. The candidate should have expertise in dispersion modeling, receptor modeling or other Bayesian approaches for aerosol source apportionment. OR The candidate should have expertise in ICP/OES, TD-GC-MS and ED-XRF, for aerosol sample analyses.

Desirable :  In addition to the minimum qualifications, experience with analysis of hyper-spectral satellite data such as that from OMI, GOME-2, AIRS, MODIS, or IASI is also desirable. The ability to access NASA data in HDF-5 format is a plus she/he should also have good verbal and written communication skills as well as be experienced in the standard computing languages such as C/C++, IDL, MATLAB or Fortran. OR The candidate should have experience in handling aerosol field sampling and chemical analyses equipment. Research responsibilities: The post-doc will be required to participate in aerosol source apportionment using US-EPA PMF5 and other expanded ME models. OR The post-doc will have to handle instruments, including ICP-OES and TD-GC-MS for aerosol chemical analyses. The post-doc will also have to participate in data quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) and validation. The post doc will be responsible for data synthesis, analysis and preparation of technical reports.

Salary :  Rs. 47,000 per month + 16% HRA (degree awarded)

Age Limit :  Preferably below 32 years. It can be relaxed for a candidate with exceptional abilities.
