Job Description
Research Associate Physics recruitment in IIT Kanpur
Project entitled: “Chaotic Fibre Laser for Random Event Generation” at the Department of Physics, IIT Kanpur.
Essential qualification: Ph.D in Physics or EE with experimental work on Fibre Lasers OR M.Tech with 3 years of research experience in Fibre lasers after M.Tech.
Desirable: Demonstrated aptitude for Fibre-optic research work (both in experimental and simulation work) through high-quality journal publications.
Age limit (maximum): 35 years
Age relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable up to 5 years for SC/ST/OBC/Women/PD candidates.
Salary: Rs. 36,000 per month + HRA (as per Institute norms)
Duration: One year (extendable by one more year or till the completion of the project, whichever is earlier, subject to satisfactory performance).
If a suitable candidate is not found for Research Associate, appointment may be considered at the level of JRF (@ Rs. 12,000 per month + HRA) OR SRF (@ Rs. 14,000 per month + HRA). JRF post requires M.Sc (Physics) or equivalent degree with 55% marks and passing of NET/GATE test (maximum age: 28 years). SRF post requires M.Sc (Physics) or equivalent degree with at least 2 years of post-M.Sc research experience as evidenced from standard journal publications OR M.Tech or equivalent degree with dissertation work in Fiber Lasers. (maximum age: 32 years).
