Research Associate Job in Cadila Pharmaceuticals Ltd at Dholka

Role Objective / Major Purpose of the Job

To drive the successful lab-scale demonstration, process optimization, and technology transfer of new synthetic molecules from R&D to full-scale manufacturing. The role focuses on scaling up unit operations safely and cost-effectively through engineering calculations, troubleshooting plant deviations (OOS/failed batches), and coordinating with cross-functional teams (CFT) to ensure seamless execution, regulatory compliance, and capacity enhancement. 

Principal Tasks & Responsibilities

• Understanding the process details with the concerned scientist through lab-level experiments and discussing potential operational challenges at the plant level.

• Optimizing operational parameters across various unit operations (e.g., crystallization, distillation, drying, extraction) based on energy efficiency, cost reduction, and safety guidelines.

• Identifying facility requirements, including equipment and utilities, required for smooth production execution.

• Investigating root causes for failed plant batches and conducting laboratory trials to implement corrective solutions.

 • Driving solvent recovery initiatives and optimizing process parameters for system capacity enhancement.

• Scaling up products from R&D to plant level using precise engineering calculations and reaction kinetics evaluation.

• Maintaining complete accuracy and proper archiving of technical documents and records to ensure seamless retrievability.

• Upholding high quality and EHS safety standards across all laboratory and scale-up activities.

• Coordinating with R&D, TT, ARL, EHS, Engineering, and Plant teams to ensure seamless execution of technology transfer activities. • Planning and executing particle size distribution (PSD) batches and experiments using Air Jet Mills and Multimills.
