Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM Bangalore) invites application for the position Research Fellow

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Responsible for the organizational analysis, and reporting of data collected from various sources, utilizing various visualization and business intelligence tools to provide a clear understanding and communication of data to aid decision making.

2. Responsible for designing, constructing, maintaining, and deploying data sources,

3. Prepare statistical reports for the company’s internal programs using dynamic reporting platform of R and other software.

4. Monitor and maintain data sources, performing activities such as setting refresh schedules, monitoring for issues, diagnosing, and troubleshooting issues on data hosted on the Server.

5. Develop interactive/dynamic dashboards with tools.

6. Responsible for the performance of basic statistical analysis of relevant data to aid in decision making.

7. Provide input on how to create new sources of data-driven innovation through technology and analytics that would add value to the Centre.

8. Explore new ways to analyse data using statistical methods, machine learning, and predictive models.

Key Skills / Abilities/Knowledge required:

1. Knowledge: It is vital that they possess capabilities in statistical analysis and modeling which includes hypothesis testing, logistic and linear regression, and parametric and non-parametric methods,

2. Collaborative skills: They must be able to work collaborative in a team-oriented environment,

3. Communication skills: They require excellent written as well as verbal communication skills for effective presentation of both technical and non-technical information to audience from varying backgrounds,

4. Organizational skills: It is essential that they are highly organized individuals with the ability to effectively prioritize workload and execute tasks successfully even when faced within tight deadlines,

5. Quantitative skills: It is essential that applicant is highly numerate with strong qualitative and quantitative analysis skills, and demonstrated experience with SQL or SAS programming, statistical modeling and forecasting, applying quantitative and research methods. They must be comfortable with and capable of synthesizing large data sets into actionable insights,

Experience and Educational qualification:

1. Candidate should be at least a Postgraduate from a reputed Institution, with specialization in statistics & data sciences. PhDs in the relevant area could also apply,

2. Experience of at least 2 years of having worked with the statistical tools is essential.

Compensation: Monthly CTC will depend on the educational qualification and experience profile and could be in the range of Rs. 35,000 – Rs. 60,000
