Research Fellow/ Project Fellow Marine Biology recruitment in Zoological Survey of India
Essential qualifications :1. A first-Class MSc with majors in Marine Biology, Environmental or any Life Sciences.
2. Must be willing to pursue a PhD through the project within 6-12 months of joining the project (Topic of study must be in concordance with the general theme of the research project)
3. Should be physically fit, and not be averse to work in marine conditions.
4. Should be willing to take up SCUBA diving training.
5. Should be willing to stay in Lakshadweep, to carry out the work and as per the requirement of the research topic.
Desirable qualifications :1. Good statistical knowledge, and ability to use statistical softwares. 2. Experience of working with a varied group of people and cultures, especially research scholars in different scientific fields, volunteers and interns. 3. Research experience in Coral Reef studies 4. Possessing good communication skills 5. Possessing SCUBA Certification

Place of Posting: The Initial place of posting for the candidates will be Marine Biology Regional Centre, Zoological Survey of India, Chennai. However, one candidate will continue to be posted in Chennai, and the other will be asked to take up posting in / Field Centre, Long-term coral reef monitoring programme - Lakshasdweep, Kavaratti Island Lakshadweep. This shall be decided based on the topic of the study chosen/assigned as listed in the project activities.
Salary: Rs.16,000 + HRA during the JRF tenure and 18000 + HRA during the SRF tenure. UGC/NET qualified candidates will be paid 31000+HRA and 25,000+HRA respectively during JRF and SRF tenures
