Job Description
Research Officer (Planning).
Method of Recruitment and Eligibility Criteria.: Deputation: Officers under the Central Territories: Government or State Government or Union (a) (b) (i) holding analogous posts on regular basis in the parent cadre or Department; or (ii) with five years service in the grade rendered after appointment thereto on a regular basis in posts in the scale of pay of Rs.6500- CPC) {PB -2 Rs. 9,300-34,800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4,600/- (601 CPC) corresponding to level 7 of the pay matrix of 7th CPC or equivalent in the parent cadre or
Department: and Possessing the following educational qualifications and experience: (i) Master's Degree in Statistics or Operations Research or Mathematics or Economics (with Statistics) or Commerce (with Statistics) from a recognized University or equivalent. (ii) Three years experience in collection, compilation, analysis and interpretation of statistical data.
The Departmental Assistant Research Officer with five years' regular service in the grade shall also be considered alongwith outsiders and in case he is selected for appointment to the post, the same shall be deemed to have been filled by promotion. Note: Where juniors who have completed their qualifying or eligibility service are being considered for promotion their seniors would also be considered provided they are not short of the requisite qualifying or eligibility service by more than half of such qualifying or eligibility service, or two years, whichever is less, and have successfully completed their promotion period for promotion to the next higher grade alongwith their juniors who have already completed such qualifying or eligibility service. (The depaflmental Officers in the feeder category who are in the direct line of promotion will not be eligible for consideration for appointment on deputation. Similarly deputationist shall not be eligible for consideration for appointment by promotion. Period of deputation including period of deputation in another ex-cadre post held immediately preceding this appointment in the same or some other Organisation or Department of the Central Government shall ordinarily not exceed three years.
Scale of pay Rs.8000-275-13.500/-(5 CPC PB-3 Rs. + Grade Pay of Rs. 5400!- 6th CPC) corres ndin to Level 10 of Pav Matrix of 7th CPC.
Job requirements To assist the Planning Adviser in preparation, formulation of NEC Plans/Programmes, agenda for Council Meetings[Review meetings and to co-ordinate with different Sectoral Advisers in the Council Secretariat; to scrutinize proposals received in respect of Plan Schemes and draft reports relating to the NEC Plan, analysis of Plans and budgets of N.E. States as well as the Central Government Ministries.
