All India Institute of Medical Sciences Raipur (AIIMS Raipur) invites application for the position Research Scientist-I (Non-Medical)
Code of Post: VRDL/02
Consolidated Fixed Salary (per month): Rs. 60,000/-
Nature of Employment: Contractual
Duration of Employment: One Year (12 Months) extendable to two years, depending on the candidate’s performance and budget grant from the funding agency.
Job Location: State-level VRDL, Department of Microbiology, AIIMS, Raipur
Essential Qualifications: Master’s degree in Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Molecular Biology / Bioinformatics / Life Science from a recognized university. Three years’ experience of working in Viral diseases / Infectious disease diagnostic laboratory or Molecular biology laboratory.
Desirable Qualifications:
i. Research / training experience in Viral Diagnosis / Infectious disease outbreak diagnosis / field experience of sample collection and transport in viral disease outbreak.
ii. Working experience of tissue culture (virus isolation) / cell line maintenance / viral gene expression study/ genetic basis of viral pathogenesis / viral diagnostic genetic marker.
iii. At least two original research publications (Published/ accepted) in PUBMED indexed journal will be given preferences.
iv. Knowledge of Computer Applications (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Sequence phylogenetic analysis software, working knowledge of molecular bioinformatic tools like Bio edit, BLAST, Primer and Probe designing, phylogenetic analysis and sequence will be preferred).
Job description:
a. Real time assessment of any viral outbreak, if occur in Chhattisgarh.
b. Coordination with state health personal in control measurement of any viral outbreak.
c. Bench work related to various viral diagnosis and research.
d. Writing new research projects and working on it.
e. Completion of any work assigned by PI and Co-PI in smooth functioning of VRDL.
f. Conducting trainings and workshops for Medical colleges of Chhattisgarh.
g. Maintenance of all documentation in terms of inventory / log book / SOP
h. Raising demand for any equipment / chemical / plasticware / glassware / kits.
i. Writing research articles for publication in reputed journals.
j. Participating in research projects sanctioned.
k. Supervision and management of other staff employed in VRDL.
