Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Resident Medical Officer (RMO) to join our medical team. The RMO will be responsible for ensuring the provision of high-quality patient care in coordination with nursing and consultant staff. This role includes monitoring patients' conditions, responding to emergencies, assisting with admissions/discharges, and documenting medical records as per hospital protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care & Monitoring

Conduct daily rounds and monitor in-patient condition in wards, ICU, or emergency departments.

Assess patient vitals, symptoms, and progress, and document observations clearly in case sheets.

Respond to sudden changes in patient status, including managing code blue situations and initiating CPR if needed.

Ensure prescribed treatment is being administered properly and on time.
2. Emergency Response

Attend to patients brought to the emergency department and stabilize them before referring to specialists if required.

Perform initial assessment and treatment, including first aid, wound care, IV line insertion, and emergency drug administration.

Coordinate with on-call specialists and consultants in case of critical or trauma cases.
3. Coordination with Consultants & Nursing Team

Inform and coordinate with specialist consultants for patient evaluations, investigations, and treatment plans.

Ensure proper handover and communication between shifts regarding ongoing patient care.

Supervise and guide nursing staff in implementing physician orders, medication schedules, and care routines.
4. Documentation & Medical Records

Maintain up-to-date case files, medical charts, treatment plans, and patient progress notes.

Ensure proper documentation of all treatments, investigations, and procedures as per hospital norms.

Prepare discharge summaries in coordination with consultants.
5. Clinical Procedures (as per qualification)

Perform minor procedures like catheterization, nasogastric tube insertion, suturing, IV infusions, etc.

Assist during major procedures or surgeries as required by senior doctors or specialists.

Ensure adherence to infection control and sterile techniques during procedures.
6. Shift Handover and Reporting
-
Conduct proper handovers between shifts to ensure continuity of care.

Submit daily reports on ward status, patient admissions, transfers, discharges, and critical cases to the medical superintendent or duty manager.

Participate in internal audits and quality assessments as needed.
