Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Retail Pharmacist to join our pharmacy team. This position is ideal for recently educated candidates with 2+ years of experience who are looking to start their career as a dynamic Retail Pharmacist will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications for patients. Responsibilities include preparing and dispensing medications, monitoring patient therapy, and collaborating with healthcare professionals.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Dispensing Medications:

Accurately dispense prescription medications and over-the-counter (OTC) products to patients in accordance with prescriptions from healthcare providers.

Verify the dosage, instructions, and labeling of medications to ensure accuracy and safety.

Provide clear instructions to patients on how to take medications, including proper dosage, timing, and possible side effects.
2. Patient Consultation and Counseling:

Offer medication counseling to patients, explaining the purpose of medications, proper administration, and potential side effects.

Educate patients on the importance of adherence to their prescribed treatment plans.

Answer patient inquiries about medications, dietary supplements, and general health advice, ensuring that patients fully understand their treatment options.
3. Drug Interaction and Safety:

Review prescriptions for drug interactions, contraindications, and allergies to ensure patient safety.

Provide alternative recommendations if necessary to avoid harmful interactions or side effects.

Keep patients informed about the proper storage of medications, including temperature control or expiration date concerns.
4. Inventory Management:

Monitor stock levels of medications, ensuring that essential drugs are always available.

Order medications and supplies from suppliers as needed to prevent shortages.

Organize and manage the pharmacy inventory, ensuring products are stored according to regulatory standards and guidelines.

5. Regulatory Compliance and Record Keeping:

Ensure all activities comply with local, state, and federal laws and regulations related to the dispensing of medications.

Maintain accurate records for all prescriptions dispensed, including patient information, medication details, and insurance claims.

Keep records of controlled substances and follow protocols for tracking and reporting their usage.

6. Customer Service and Relationship Building:

Provide excellent customer service by assisting patients with their medication needs, addressing their concerns, and offering personalized pharmaceutical care.

7. Managing Prescriptions:
