Retail Sales Associate
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:

Greet all customers warmly upon entering the store and assist them promptly and professionally.

Engage with customers to understand their preferences and provide personalized recommendations.

Address questions about products, availability, sizes, styles, pricing, and features.
-
Resolve customer concerns or escalate issues to the Store Manager when necessary.
2. Product Knowledge:
-
Develop thorough knowledge of the store’s products, current promotions, new arrivals, and best sellers.
-
Communicate product features, benefits, and usage effectively to assist customers in making informed decisions.

Stay updated on inventory levels and upcoming trends relevant to the store’s merchandise.
3. Sales & Transactions:
-
Actively promote and upsell products based on customer preferences.
-
Meet or exceed daily and monthly sales targets set by store management.

Process payments accurately using POS (Point of Sale) systems, including handling cash, card, UPI, or wallet payments.

Issue receipts, handle returns or exchanges according to company policy, and manage customer billing queries.
4. Visual Merchandising & Stock Management:
-
Ensure that product displays are visually appealing, well-stocked, and in line with brand guidelines.

Assist in setting up new merchandise displays and seasonal themes under the direction of the visual merchandising team.

Replenish stock on shelves, racks, and displays as needed during the day.
-
Conduct regular stock checks, alert the supervisor to low-stock items, and assist in inventory counts.
5. Store Cleanliness & Maintenance:

Maintain a clean, tidy, and organized sales floor, fitting rooms, and checkout area.

Report any maintenance issues (e.g., lighting, fixtures, spills) immediately.

Follow store opening and closing procedures including cleaning, restocking, and securing merchandise.
6. Team Collaboration:
-
Work closely with other sales associates, floor staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.

Attend daily briefings, training sessions, or sales meetings to stay informed and aligned.

Support colleagues during busy hours, store promotions, or customer events.
