Job Description
An RFAI (Radio Frequency Acceptance Inspection) Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and performance of radio frequency (RF) network elements before they are integrated into the live network. This involves verifying the correct installation, configuration, and functionality of equipment like BTS (Base Transceiver Station)s and antennas, and ensuring they meet the required standards. The role also includes troubleshooting any issues identified during the acceptance process and coordinating with various teams to resolve them.
Key Responsibilities of an RFAI Engineer at Airtel:
- Verification of RF Equipment: Ensuring the proper installation and configuration of RF equipment, including BTS, antennas, and related hardware.
- Performance Testing: Conducting various RF tests to verify the equipment meets the required performance benchmarks.
- Troubleshooting: Identifying and resolving any issues or defects found during the acceptance process.
- Coordination: Collaborating with other teams like network planning, integration, and field operations to ensure smooth site integration.
- Documentation: Maintaining detailed records of all tests, findings, and resolutions.
- Compliance: Ensuring all activities comply with Airtel's standards and procedures.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Expertise:
- Strong understanding of RF principles, telecommunications networks (2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G), and RF network performance optimization.
- RF Equipment Knowledge:
- Familiarity with various RF equipment, including BTS, antennas, and related hardware.
- Troubleshooting Skills:
- Ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues related to RF equipment and network performance.
- Communication Skills:
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with different teams and stakeholders.
- Documentation Skills:
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records of all activities.
- Experience:
- 1-3 years of experience as an RF Engineer or in a similar role is often preferred.
