Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
1. Safety Planning and Implementation

Develop and implement site-specific safety plans for MEP industrial construction projects.

Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for all construction activities, especially high-risk tasks such as heavy lifting, electrical installations, confined space work, and working at heights.

Coordinate with project teams to integrate safety measures into daily work plans.

Establish emergency response procedures and ensure readiness.
2. Compliance and Regulation Adherence

Ensure all safety practices comply with local, national, and international safety regulations and standards (e.g., OSHA, NFPA, ISO, local statutory requirements).

Stay updated on new safety legislation, guidelines, and industry best practices.

Prepare and maintain safety documentation, records, and reports for audits and inspections.
3. Site Inspections and Monitoring

Conduct routine safety inspections of project sites, equipment, and work processes.

Identify unsafe practices and conditions, and take immediate corrective action.

Monitor the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensure it is readily available to workers.

Ensure MEP installation activities meet safety requirements in areas such as welding, electrical connections, and heavy machinery operation.
4. Safety Training and Awareness

Organize toolbox talks, safety inductions, and refresher training for employees and subcontractors.

Promote a culture of safety awareness through regular communication, posters, and campaigns.

Educate teams on the safe handling of MEP tools, chemicals, electrical systems, and construction materials.
5. Incident Investigation and Reporting
-
Lead investigations into accidents, incidents, and near-misses.

Identify root causes and recommend preventive measures.
-
Prepare detailed incident reports for management and clients.
-
Track and analyze incident trends to develop proactive safety programs.
6. Coordination with Project and MEP Teams
-
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and supervisors to review method statements and work permits before commencing high-risk tasks.

Ensure MEP installation activities involving cranes, scaffolding, and electrical panels are executed under safe conditions.

Support the development of construction sequences that prioritize safety without affecting timelines.
7. Emergency Preparedness
-
Ensure fire safety systems, alarms, and evacuation routes are operational and accessible.

Organize emergency drills for workers.
-
Oversee the availability and maintenance of first aid kits, fire extinguishers, and emergency rescue equipment.
8. Documentation and Reporting
-
Maintain safety logs, risk registers, inspection reports, and compliance certifications.
-
Provide weekly and monthly safety performance reports to senior management.
-
Assist in preparing documentation for client safety audits and third-party inspections.
