Sainik School Purulia is one of the 25 Sainik Schools in the country and was established in the year 1962 under the aegis of the Ministry of Defence for the benefit of the comparatively weaker sections of the society and for the removal of regional imbalances in the officer's cadres of Defence Services in India.
