Job Description

We are looking for a dynamic and driven sales and marketing executive to join our team at Somaniply. The ideal candidate will be responsible for engaging with corporate architects, interior designer, and contractors to get our plywood brand approved and listed in their make lists. The role require strong relationship building skills, technical know-how, and the ability to drive brand visibility in the B2B space. Prior experience in building material industry is highly preferred - especially in laminates, veneers, paint, false ceiling, flooring, lighting, plywood, glass, partition systems, modular furniture or related products.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Business Development & B2B Engagement:

  • Identify, target, and engage with key stakeholders such as architects, interior designers, PMC consultants, contractors, and purchase departments in corporate, hospitality, commercial, and residential projects.

  • Proactively pitch and present Somaniply’s plywood products, highlighting quality, performance, certifications, and value propositions.

  • Secure product specification and approvals for projects by ensuring Somaniply is listed in architects’ and consultants’ approved make lists (AMLs).

2. Market Penetration & Relationship Building:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with decision-makers in the design and construction community.

  • Act as a technical and commercial advisor, supporting clients with the right product mix for their project needs.

  • Visit architectural firms, construction sites, and corporate offices regularly to maintain visibility and top-of-mind recall of the brand.

3. Sales Target Achievement:

  • Develop and execute territory-based sales plans to meet and exceed assigned targets.

  • Monitor project pipelines, track progress of ongoing projects, and follow through until final material purchase.

  • Collaborate with the distributor or dealer network to ensure product availability and timely deliveries.

4. Marketing & Brand Promotion:

  • Conduct or participate in product presentations, design meets, architect events, and exhibitions to promote brand awareness.

  • Support digital marketing, sample distribution, and branding efforts to enhance the company’s presence in the design/build ecosystem.

  • Collect market intelligence, competitor data, pricing insights, and client feedback to improve marketing strategies.

5. Technical Support & Product Knowledge:

  • Develop a strong technical understanding of Somaniply’s product range – grades, applications, certifications, fire resistance, moisture resistance, and eco-compliance.

  • Train dealers, influencers, and end-users on product features, USPs, and usage scenarios.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education:

    • Graduate in any discipline (preferred: B.Com, BBA, B.Sc, B.Arch, or Civil Engineering).

    • MBA in Marketing or related field is an advantage.

  • Experience:

    • Prefer experience in sales and marketing in the building materials industry.

    • Strong network in the architectural and interiors space is highly preferred.

  • Industry Experience:

    • Preferred experience in categories such as plywood, laminates, veneers, glass, flooring, false ceiling, modular furniture, partitions, paint, or lighting.

  • Technical Know-How:

    • Familiarity with basic construction/fit-out practices, materials, and approval processes.

  • Skills Required:

    • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

    • Relationship management and consultative selling ability.

    • Presentation and product demonstration skills.

    • Proficiency in MS Office, CRM tools, and digital communication platforms.

    • Strong written and spoken communication in English and local language(s).
