Sales Assistant
Job Description
Greet customers and provide a high level of customer service.

Assist customers with product selection, queries, and purchases.

Maintain product knowledge to help advise customers.

Process sales transactions accurately using POS systems.

Restock shelves and ensure displays are tidy and attractive.

Monitor inventory levels and report low stock to management.
-
Support promotional activities and product launches.

Handle customer complaints or escalate issues to the manager.
-
Meet or exceed sales targets and contribute to team goals.

Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Service:
-
Greet customers warmly and approach them proactively to offer assistance.
-
Understand customer needs and recommend suitable products or alternatives.
-
Answer customer questions regarding product features, pricing, availability, and promotions.
-
Handle returns, complaints, or customer concerns professionally and escalate if needed.
-
Deliver a high standard of service to ensure customer satisfaction and encourage repeat business.
2. Sales and Product Promotion:
-
Drive sales through up-selling and cross-selling techniques.
-
Maintain product knowledge for all items in the store, including new arrivals, discounts, and seasonal items.
-
Support the store in meeting daily and monthly sales targets.
-
Participate in promotional campaigns and suggest ideas to increase footfall or revenue.
3. Point-of-Sale Operations:
-
Process transactions accurately using the cash register or POS system (cash, card, and digital payments).
-
Handle refunds, exchanges, and gift vouchers as per store policy.
-
Ensure cash handling procedures are followed strictly and responsibly.
-
Balance cash drawer and report discrepancies at the end of the shift.
4. Store Maintenance and Merchandising:
-
Ensure shelves are well-stocked, clean, and organized at all times.
-
Assist in setting up displays, signage, and promotional materials.
-
Monitor stock levels and inform supervisors of low or out-of-stock items.
-
Assist with stockroom duties, inventory counts, and restocking as needed.
-
Maintain cleanliness and order in the store, including fitting rooms and checkout areas.
5. Teamwork and Store Operations:
-
Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure a smooth workflow.

Follow daily schedules and perform tasks assigned by the store manager or team lead.
-
Attend team briefings, training sessions, and contribute ideas for improving store performance.

Follow all safety, security, and company procedures diligently.
