Sales Associate
Job Description
- Responsibility is to assist customers in the store, ensuring a positive shopping experience.
- Suggesting products based on customer needs and preferences.
- Addressing customer inquiries about products, store policies, and promotions.
- Resolving customer issues and complaints professionally and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Customer Assistance

Greet all customers as they enter the store and provide a warm and welcoming experience.

Assist customers in finding specific products, sizes, or styles based on their preferences.

Provide accurate information about products, prices, warranties, return policies, and ongoing offers.

Offer personalized suggestions or alternatives to help customers make informed decisions.

Handle customer complaints or concerns with professionalism and escalate unresolved issues to supervisors.
2. Product Knowledge
-
Develop a thorough understanding of the store’s merchandise including new arrivals, seasonal trends, and product specifications.

Stay updated on sales promotions, discounts, and loyalty programs.

Explain features, usage, and benefits of products to customers clearly and confidently.
3. Sales and Conversion
-
Meet or exceed daily/weekly sales targets and conversion rates.

Encourage add-on sales and upsell items when appropriate (e.g., accessories, combo offers, extended warranties).

Process customer transactions accurately through the point-of-sale (POS) system.

Handle cash, credit/debit card transactions, digital payments, and receipts.
4. Store Maintenance
-
Ensure that shelves, racks, and displays are well-stocked, tidy, and visually appealing.

Assist in unpacking, labeling, and displaying new inventory.

Conduct regular stock checks and inform the supervisor of low-stock or out-of-stock items.

Maintain cleanliness and organization in the assigned sales section and general store area.
5. Inventory Support
-
Help with inventory counts, cycle counts, and stock audits.
-
Assist in receiving and organizing new stock deliveries.
-
Ensure the accurate tagging of merchandise (barcodes, pricing stickers, etc.).
6. Checkout and Billing
-
Operate the billing counter with speed and accuracy.
-
Pack items securely for customers and thank them for their purchase.

Help customers with exchange or return procedures following store policies.
7. Team Collaboration
-
Work closely with fellow team members, store managers, and supervisors to ensure smooth store operations.

Attend daily briefings, sales trainings, and team meetings.

Provide backup support to other team members during breaks or high-traffic hours.
