Job Description
Key Responsibilities:

Customer Service and Sales:
-
Greet customers warmly as they enter the coffee shop.

Assist customers with menu selections and suggest items based on their preferences.

Take accurate orders and handle customer inquiries politely.
-
Upsell food and beverage items to increase overall sales.
-
Handle cash and card transactions at the counter using the POS system.
-
Provide prompt and courteous service to all customers.
-
Ensure customer satisfaction by resolving complaints or referring them to the manager when needed.

Order Preparation and Support:
-
Assist baristas in preparing coffee, tea, and other beverages during busy hours.
-
Help pack takeaway items properly and serve food and drinks to customers when required.
-
Maintain cleanliness of the work area including counters, machines, and serving stations.
-
Stock supplies such as napkins, straws, stirrers, takeaway cups, lids, and condiments.
-
Refill food display cases with bakery or snack items.
-
Assist with preparing simple food items such as sandwiches, salads, or pastries if needed.

Shop Maintenance and Cleanliness:
-
Clean tables, chairs, and floors regularly to maintain a hygienic environment.
-
Help in washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen tools when required.
-
Take out trash and replace garbage bags.
-
Sanitize surfaces frequently in compliance with food safety standards.
-
Ensure the cleanliness of the restroom and report any maintenance issues to the supervisor.

Inventory and Stocking:
-
Monitor inventory levels and inform the supervisor when stock is low.
-
Receive deliveries and help unpack and store supplies in designated areas.
-
Label and organize products in refrigerators, shelves, and storage units.
-
Check expiry dates of food and beverages and rotate stock as necessary (First-In-First-Out method).

Teamwork and Support:

Work closely with baristas, kitchen staff, and managers to maintain efficient operations.
-
Follow instructions given by the supervisor or team leader.
-
Participate in team meetings and training sessions.
-
Support colleagues during peak hours and help in other areas as required.
