Overview
We are seeking a proactive and analytical Sales Development Manager to join our growing team. This role is responsible for analyzing sales data, supporting the sales team in planning and execution, and helping the company achieve its sales targets across designated territories. The Sales Development Manager will work closely with regional sales teams, traveling to support them on the ground, offering strategic input, and implementing actionable plans to improve performance.
This is a hands-on, field-oriented leadership role suited for someone who is not only comfortable analyzing numbers and trends but is also skilled in motivating sales teams, refining sales strategies, and ensuring execution excellence.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Analysis & Target Management

Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement across territories.

Regularly review team and individual sales performance against monthly, quarterly, and annual targets.

Generate reports and provide actionable insights to sales leadership and team members.

Assist in setting realistic yet challenging sales targets for teams and individuals in collaboration with senior sales leadership.

Recommend data-driven changes to improve conversion rates, upselling opportunities, and customer acquisition strategies.
2. Strategic Sales Planning

Develop, adjust, and implement new sales plans, playbooks, and strategies to help teams reach and exceed their targets more efficiently.

Work closely with sales reps to understand territory-specific challenges and tailor strategies accordingly.

Support in the design of incentive schemes, performance improvement plans, and activity tracking frameworks.

Collaborate with marketing and product teams to align sales campaigns with business priorities and seasonal trends.
3. Team Support & Field Collaboration

Travel regularly across assigned territories to work side-by-side with sales teams in the field.

Attend client meetings and assist sales representatives with closing deals and managing key accounts when necessary.

Provide on-the-spot coaching, mentorship, and support to improve sales techniques, pitch quality, and objection handling.

Conduct regular territory reviews with sales teams to evaluate progress and realign strategies as needed.
4. Training & Development

Identify training needs based on sales performance data and field observations.

Organize and deliver periodic training workshops, role-playing sessions, and product knowledge updates.

Encourage and support continuous learning and professional development among sales staff.

Foster a strong performance-driven culture through consistent feedback, recognition, and accountability.
5. Cross-Department Collaboration

Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to ensure sales strategies are aligned with product availability, pricing, and promotional efforts.

Act as the communication bridge between the field sales force and corporate leadership.

Share insights from the market and customers with the relevant internal teams to drive product improvements and service enhancements.
Skills and Qualifications
Required

Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or a related field (MBA preferred).

Minimum of 3–3+ years of experience in sales or sales development, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or planning role.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in using sales reporting tools and CRMs.

Proven ability to lead, coach, and inspire a sales team to achieve and exceed targets.

Willingness and ability to travel regularly within the assigned territory.

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

Ability to think strategically while maintaining attention to detail.
