Key Responsibilities

Prospecting & Lead Generation

Identify and target Hotels, Restaurants, Cafes, Cloud Kitchens, and Resorts in the assigned territory.

Use networking, cold calling, referrals, and digital channels to generate new business leads.

Build a healthy sales pipeline and consistently update lead status.

Client Engagement & Relationship Building

Schedule meetings with decision-makers such as purchase managers, chefs, and owners.

Present packaging solutions in a persuasive manner, highlighting cost-effectiveness, sustainability, and quality.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients to encourage repeat orders and loyalty.

Sales Pitching & Negotiation

Go the extra mile to pitch packaging products, demonstrating their suitability for different food and beverage operations.
-
Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and contract agreements to close deals profitably.
-
Handle objections with confidence and provide alternatives to meet client requirements.

Market Research & Industry Knowledge
-
Stay informed about food industry trends, packaging innovations, and competitor offerings.
-
Understand client pain points (cost, sustainability, branding, storage) and position products as solutions.
-
Share market intelligence with management for strategic planning.

Sales Administration
-
Prepare quotations, proposals, and invoices for clients.
-
Use Excel, emails, and basic computer tools to maintain sales data.
-
Ensure timely follow-up on leads, deliveries, and payments.

Performance Tracking & Reporting

Maintain accurate client and sales activity records in CRM or sales tracking systems.
-
Report daily, weekly, and monthly sales performance to management.
-
Analyze performance metrics and work towards exceeding assigned sales targets.

Collaboration & Teamwork

Work closely with the operations team to ensure timely delivery of packaging products.
-
Coordinate with finance for payment follow-ups and with marketing for promotional campaigns.

Support product development teams by providing customer feedback and suggestions.

Skills Required

Communication Skills

Excellent fluency in English and Tamil is essential.

Knowledge of Hindi is a strong advantage, especially for dealing with clients from other regions.

Ability to present packaging solutions clearly and confidently to business owners and managers.

Strong persuasion, pitching, and closing abilities.

Skilled at handling objections and converting potential leads into successful sales.

Ability to adapt the sales pitch depending on whether the client is a 5-star hotel, a mid-sized café, or a small cloud kitchen.

Technical & Administrative Skills

Basic knowledge of MS Excel for preparing reports and quotations.

Proficiency in email communication for sending proposals, follow-ups, and updates.

General computer literacy for maintaining sales data and using CRM tools.

Industry Knowledge

Awareness of HoReCa operations, customer needs, and challenges.

Understanding of packaging requirements for different food items (takeaway boxes, containers, eco-friendly packaging, etc.).

Familiarity with sustainable packaging trends is a big plus.
