Job Description

Position Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and result-oriented Sales Executive with proven experience in the polymer and pesticides/agrochemicals industries. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth understanding of the relevant market segments and customer base across South India. Proficiency in South Indian languages (such as Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, or Malayalam) is strongly preferred, along with strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.

This role focuses on business development, customer retention, and sales growth through strategic outreach, effective communication, and a proactive, problem-solving approach. The candidate must be self-motivated, well-versed with market trends, and able to confidently pitch products and close deals in a competitive environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities in the polymer and pesticide markets, especially in agricultural, packaging, manufacturing, and distribution segments.

  • Build a strong customer base by targeting dealers, distributors, industrial clients, and end-users.

  • Present product solutions, negotiate terms, and convert leads into successful long-term relationships.

  • Conduct product demos, site visits, and technical discussions as required to facilitate the sales process.

  • Meet or exceed assigned sales targets on a monthly and quarterly basis.

2. Market & Product Knowledge

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor products, pricing strategies, and customer expectations in the polymer and agrochemical sectors.

  • Understand the application, benefits, and limitations of various polymer and pesticide products.

  • Act as a product expert, offering guidance and consultation based on client requirements.

3. Territory Management

  • Manage assigned territory in South India with regular customer visits, follow-ups, and territory planning.

  • Maintain accurate customer records including contacts, past orders, pricing, and visit schedules.

  • Attend regional industry expos, trade fairs, and farmer events to promote products and network with potential clients.

4. Communication & Client Interaction

  • Develop strong interpersonal relationships with both existing and new customers.

  • Communicate effectively in local languages to establish trust and confidence with rural and semi-urban clients.

  • Address customer concerns, resolve complaints quickly, and provide after-sales support.

5. Reporting & Coordination

  • Prepare regular sales reports, forecasts, and feedback summaries for the sales manager.

  • Collaborate with technical, marketing, logistics, and customer service teams to ensure smooth order execution and service delivery.

  • Provide inputs on product demand, market pricing, and competition to support business strategy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Agriculture, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 1–3+ years of sales experience specifically in polymer/plastic products, pesticides, fertilizers, or agrochemical sectors.

  • Good understanding of the regional market in South India, including customer preferences, regional crops, and industrial usage patterns.

  • Fluency in one or more South Indian languages (Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam) is strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and customer relationship management skills.

  • Ability to work independently and travel extensively across assigned regions.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Basic computer skills – MS Office, Excel, CRM tools, mobile sales apps.
