Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development:

Identify and approach potential customers through cold calling, networking, referrals, or walk-ins.

Understand customer needs and recommend appropriate insurance products that match their financial goals, risk appetite, and coverage requirements.

Explain policy features, benefits, exclusions, premiums, and terms clearly to prospective clients.

Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations or product demonstrations to individuals and groups.
2. Lead Generation and Follow-up:
-
Generate new leads through marketing campaigns, field visits, social media, and referrals.

Maintain a pipeline of qualified prospects through regular follow-ups and engagement.

Schedule meetings and conduct face-to-face or virtual interactions with clients.

Use CRM systems or sales tracking tools to manage contacts and update lead status.
3. Customer Relationship Management:
-
Build long-term relationships with clients through regular communication and value-added service.
-
Provide post-sale support, resolve queries, and assist clients with policy renewals, endorsements, and claims.

Educate clients on additional or complementary insurance products to enhance coverage (cross-selling).

Follow up with customers to ensure policy documents are received, understood, and properly maintained.
4. Target Achievement and Reporting:

Meet or exceed individual and team sales targets as set by the organization.

Prepare regular reports on sales activities, client meetings, conversion ratios, and revenue generated.

Attend daily/weekly sales meetings and provide updates to supervisors or regional managers.

Participate in incentive schemes, contests, and performance reviews.
5. Market Research and Product Knowledge:

Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and competitor products.

Provide feedback to product and marketing teams regarding customer needs and market demand.

Understand underwriting guidelines, claim procedures, and product comparison to advise clients accurately.

Attend training programs, workshops, or certifications to enhance sales skills and insurance knowledge.
6. Documentation and Compliance:

Collect and verify client documents such as ID proof, address proof, income proof, and KYC forms.

Ensure accurate and complete submission of proposal forms and other documentation.

Maintain compliance with IRDAI regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) policies, and internal company policies.

Ensure ethical conduct, honesty, and confidentiality in all client dealings.
Skills:

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Goal-oriented and self-motivated with a strong sales drive.

Good interpersonal and customer service skills.

Basic understanding of financial planning and risk management.

Proficient in using MS Office, mobile apps, and CRM tools.
