Job Description – Sales Head (Industrial UPS Business, Chennai)
Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Sales Head to lead our Industrial UPS Division for the Chennai based Lithium ion Battery manufacturing Unit, G-Power Energy & Technology Pvt Ltd., focusing on 30kVA to 500kVA online UPS solutions for mission-critical applications across industries. The role requires a seasoned professional with deep knowledge of the Indian power backup/energy solutions market, strong business development skills, and proven expertise in managing sales teams and channel partners.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and implement a national sales strategy to achieve revenue and market share growth in the 30kVA–500kVA on-line UPS segment.
- Identify emerging opportunities in data centers, manufacturing, healthcare, government, defense, IT/ITES, infrastructure, and BFSI sectors.
- Set ambitious yet achievable sales targets and monitor performance across regions.
- Lead, motivate, and mentor regional sales teams to ensure consistent pipeline growth.
2. Business Development & Market Expansion
- Build and expand relationships with key accounts, consultants, project management companies, EPC contractors, and system integrators.
- Drive participation in government tenders, institutional projects, and large corporate accounts.
- Establish and nurture long-term relationships with CXOs, purchase heads, and technical decision-makers.
- Expand channel partner, dealer, and distributor networks across India for better market penetration.
3. Product & Market Expertise
- Deep understanding of on-line double conversion UPS technology (30kVA–500kVA), including competitive landscape and differentiators.
- Provide feedback to the product and engineering teams on market needs, pricing strategy, and customer expectations.
- Position the company as a trusted partner by highlighting product reliability, TCO (total cost of ownership), and after-sales service support.
4. Revenue Management & P&L Accountability
- Own the sales P&L for the Industrial UPS vertical.
- Drive profitable growth with focus on margins, order booking, and payment collections.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and pricing dynamics to ensure competitiveness.
5. Team & Process Management
- Establish structured sales processes, including CRM adoption, funnel management, and regular forecasting.
- Train and upskill sales teams on solution selling, consultative engagement, and value-based sales.
- Coordinate closely with service, projects, and supply chain teams for seamless customer experience.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate in Engineering (Electrical/Electronics preferred) + MBA in Sales/Marketing (desirable).
- 12–18 years of experience in sales of Industrial UPS / Power Electronics / Energy Solutions with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of handling large-ticket deals (₹50L – ₹20Cr range) with enterprises, institutions, and government.
- Strong network with consultants, EPCs, and enterprise customers in the Indian UPS/Power Backup industry.
- Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
