Job Summary
We are seeking a high-performing and target-driven Sales Manager to lead our insurance sales operations in the designated region. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing a team of agents or advisors, developing new business, achieving monthly and annual sales targets, and ensuring customer satisfaction through high-quality service delivery.
This role involves both field sales and team management, focusing on life insurance, general insurance, or health insurance (depending on the company vertical). A successful Sales Manager will build strong customer relationships, recruit and develop agents, and implement sales strategies aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Recruitment & Development

Recruit, train, and mentor a team of Insurance Advisors / Agents / Direct Sales Executives.

Conduct regular training sessions on product knowledge, sales pitch, objection handling, and compliance.

Guide agents in developing leads, meeting clients, and closing policies.

Monitor team performance and provide motivation and support to meet individual and group targets.
2. Business Development

Identify and pursue new business opportunities through personal leads, walk-ins, cold calls, and referrals.

Meet with individual and corporate clients to understand their insurance needs and offer customized policy solutions.

Promote various insurance products including term plans, health policies, motor insurance, ULIPs, endowment plans, etc.

Drive cross-selling and upselling to existing clients to maximize revenue.
3. Target Achievement

Take ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for self and the team.

Ensure sales activity planning, pipeline building, and conversion tracking.

Work closely with branch leadership to align field operations with strategic objectives.
4. Customer Relationship Management

Maintain long-term relationships with policyholders for renewals, upgrades, and claims support.

Handle client queries, grievances, or claims-related assistance effectively and in a timely manner.

Build strong rapport and trust to encourage repeat business and referrals.
5. Reporting & Compliance

Submit accurate daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports to management.

Ensure proper documentation for all policies sold, KYC norms, and compliance with IRDA regulations.

Stay updated with the latest product offerings, pricing changes, and underwriting guidelines.
