Job Description
Job Summary
The Sales Marketing Manager is responsible for driving sales of financial products including mutual funds, insurance policies (life, health, general), and loan products (personal loans, home loans, business loans, etc.). This is a field-based role, focused on lead generation, client acquisition, and conversion. The manager will work on building a strong pipeline of potential clients, nurturing relationships, and ensuring the successful closure of leads across financial services.
This role demands excellent interpersonal skills, strong financial product knowledge, and the ability to work independently in the field. The Sales Marketing Manager acts as a brand ambassador, representing the organization in the market and helping clients make informed financial decisions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Marketing of Financial Products

Promote and sell a wide range of financial products including mutual funds, insurance (life and non-life), and loans.

Develop customized financial plans and recommend suitable investment, insurance, and loan products to meet client needs.

Educate clients about financial solutions and guide them through application, documentation, and onboarding processes.
2. Lead Generation and Prospecting

Identify and acquire new clients through field visits, cold calls, referrals, networking events, housing societies, corporates, and business directories.

Generate high-quality leads from various channels including digital marketing, events, BTL activities, and partnerships.

Track leads using CRM or Excel and follow up consistently until conversion.
3. Client Relationship Management

Build long-term relationships with clients by offering consistent service, product reviews, and portfolio evaluations.

Maintain regular contact with existing clients to upsell or cross-sell additional financial products.

Address client queries, resolve concerns, and ensure high satisfaction and trust.
4. Field Work and Territory Management
-
Travel within the assigned geographic area to meet prospective and existing clients.

Conduct door-to-door visits, attend local events, and visit businesses to introduce services and generate leads.

Organize financial awareness drives or investor meets in residential and commercial areas.
5. Documentation and Compliance
-
Assist clients in completing application forms, documentation, and KYC procedures for insurance, loans, and mutual funds.

Ensure proper and timely submission of proposals, disbursal requests, insurance policies, and other documents.

Adhere to all regulatory and compliance requirements as per SEBI, IRDAI, and RBI guidelines.
6. Sales Target Achievement

Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets set for mutual funds, loans, and insurance.

Achieve both volume (number of clients) and value (total revenue or investment) targets.

Regularly report performance metrics and update progress with the reporting manager.
7. Product and Market Knowledge

Stay updated on product features, interest rates, market trends, competition, and regulatory changes.

Attend regular training sessions, webinars, and workshops conducted by product partners and internal teams.

Good understanding of mutual fund schemes (equity, debt, hybrid), insurance types (term, ULIP, health, general), and loan products (secured and unsecured).

Ability to analyze client needs and recommend the right mix of products.
