We are looking for a highly motivated and goal-oriented Sales Officer to join our retail lending team, specializing in sourcing loan funding — particularly Secured Loans and Business Loans — through open market channels. This role demands a self-driven professional who can build strong networks, identify potential customers, and drive loan business through direct sourcing.
The Sales Officer will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth for the branch by acquiring quality loan customers, ensuring excellent customer service, and contributing to innovative marketing and promotional efforts. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of loan products, market trends, and customer needs, paired with excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Loan Sourcing & Business Development

Actively source new loan business (Secured Loans, Business Loans) through open market activities, references, networking, and local market intelligence.

Identify potential customers, generate leads, and convert them into loan applicants through field visits, cold calling, and promotional events.

Build strong relationships with local market stakeholders including property dealers, chartered accountants, business owners, and SME operators.
2. Sales Target Achievement

Ensure achievement of monthly and quarterly sales targets for loan disbursals, customer acquisition, and revenue generation.

Contribute to the overall growth and profitability of the branch through strategic loan sourcing and upselling/cross-selling other financial products where applicable.

Maintain a sales pipeline and track leads, prospects, conversions, and disbursements.
3. Loan Application & Documentation

Assist customers in understanding loan eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, interest rates, and repayment structures.

Collect, verify, and ensure timely submission of loan documentation including KYC, income proof, collateral documents, and business profiles.

Coordinate with internal credit and operations teams to ensure smooth processing and disbursement of loans.
4. Customer Service Excellence

Deliver high levels of customer satisfaction by providing clear, honest, and timely communication regarding loan processes, status updates, and post-loan servicing.

Address customer queries and concerns proactively, ensuring transparency and trust at every stage of the customer journey.

Maintain a relationship-oriented approach to encourage repeat business and referrals.
5. Compliance and Risk Management

Ensure all sales and sourcing activities adhere to regulatory guidelines, internal compliance policies, and ethical standards.

Perform basic due diligence on customers to flag any potential fraud, risk, or policy deviation before forwarding loan applications for credit approval.

Maintain complete and accurate records of all customer interactions and transactions.
6. Marketing & Promotion

Support and execute unique promotional campaigns and marketing initiatives aimed at creating awareness of loan products and services.

Participate in local events, trade fairs, and field activities to generate business leads.

Provide suggestions and inputs to marketing teams for tailoring campaigns suited to the local customer base and market dynamics.
7. Reporting and Coordination

Maintain daily, weekly, and monthly reports on lead generation, follow-ups, sales closures, and target achievements.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams including credit, risk, operations, and collections for seamless customer onboarding and post-sales service.

Keep management informed about market trends, competition strategies, and customer feedback.
Key Skills:

Strong knowledge of loan products (Secured Loans, Business Loans, LAP, OD, CC).
