Job Description
Job Summary:
A Sales Officer in a reputed financial institution is responsible for generating business through the promotion and sale of financial products and services, such as loans (personal, home, gold, auto), savings accounts, insurance, credit cards, fixed deposits, or investment solutions. The Sales Officer acts as a direct point of contact for customers, identifying their financial needs and providing suitable product solutions.
The role requires a results-driven, customer-focused individual who can build strong client relationships, work independently, and meet monthly sales targets while ensuring compliance and service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Sales and Business Development

Proactively identify and acquire new customers from the open market through field visits, referrals, networking, and cold calling.

Promote and sell financial products such as:

Personal loans, business loans, home loans, vehicle loans

Fixed deposits and recurring deposits
-
Insurance products (life, health, general)
-
Savings and current accounts
-
Credit cards or investment solutions

Achieve assigned monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets as defined by the organization.

Maintain a healthy pipeline and follow up on leads through phone calls, WhatsApp, SMS, or field visits.
2. Customer Relationship Management

Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients.

Understand customer financial requirements, assess eligibility, and recommend appropriate products.

Explain product features, benefits, interest rates, terms, and documentation requirements.

Provide post-sales support and maintain customer satisfaction by handling queries, concerns, and service requests.
3. Lead Generation and Conversion

Work on leads provided by the company or sourced through self-effort.

Schedule meetings, product demos, and follow-ups to convert leads into successful applications.

Track the status of applications, coordinate with backend teams, and ensure timely disbursals or account activations.
4. Documentation and Compliance

Collect and verify customer documents such as KYC, income proof, property papers, etc., as per product requirements.

Ensure complete and accurate documentation and application submission.

Maintain confidentiality of customer data and adhere strictly to company policies, RBI/SEBI/IRDA guidelines, and KYC norms.

Report any fraudulent activities or policy breaches to the supervisor.
5. Market Intelligence and Reporting

Stay informed about competitor products, market trends, and pricing strategies.

Share insights and feedback with the management for product improvement and market penetration.

Maintain daily sales reports, lead status trackers, and customer interaction logs using CRM tools or Excel sheets.

Attend daily briefings, team huddles, and review meetings.
6. Team Collaboration and Support

Work closely with branch operations, credit, documentation, and collections teams to ensure smooth customer onboarding.

Support cross-selling initiatives and campaigns run by the organization.

Help train or mentor junior team members or new joiners when required.
