Job Overview

A Sales Representative – Travel & Tour Packages is responsible for understanding customers’ travel needs, offering customized solutions, and promoting tour packages to maximize sales and customer satisfaction. This role requires a combination of sales expertise, travel industry knowledge, and excellent customer service skills.

The Sales Representative serves as the primary point of contact for potential and existing clients, guiding them through travel planning, suggesting suitable packages, and ensuring a smooth booking process. This position is ideal for individuals who are persuasive, detail-oriented, and passionate about travel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Understanding Customer Needs

  • Engage with customers through calls, emails, or in-person meetings to understand their travel preferences, budgets, and requirements.

  • Conduct detailed discussions on destinations, duration, accommodation preferences, and travel activities.

  • Maintain customer profiles to track preferences, past bookings, and feedback.

  • Analyze customer requirements to design or recommend suitable travel packages.

2. Tour Package Recommendation & Customization

  • Develop and propose customized tour packages based on customer needs.

  • Suggest add-ons or upgrades such as excursions, insurance, or special services.

  • Explain itineraries, pricing, inclusions, and policies clearly and accurately.

  • Keep abreast of trending destinations, seasonal offers, and travel promotions.

3. Sales & Revenue Generation

  • Convert inquiries into confirmed bookings to achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.

  • Negotiate pricing, discounts, and payment terms with customers professionally.

  • Promote special offers, seasonal packages, and loyalty programs to maximize sales.

  • Upsell additional services such as visa assistance, travel insurance, or transportation packages.

4. Booking & Documentation

  • Assist customers with booking flights, hotels, tours, and other travel services.

  • Prepare quotations, invoices, and travel itineraries accurately.

  • Ensure all travel documents, tickets, and confirmations are complete and timely.

  • Maintain records of bookings, payments, cancellations, and customer communications.

5. Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to encourage repeat business and referrals.

  • Provide support for post-booking queries or issues, such as changes in itinerary or cancellations.

  • Follow up with customers for feedback, reviews, and future travel opportunities.

  • Maintain professionalism and empathy in handling difficult or demanding clients.

6. Market Research & Networking

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitor packages, and pricing.

  • Identify opportunities to expand the customer base through networking, social media, and local promotions.

  • Develop relationships with hotels, airlines, and tour operators to enhance package offerings.

  • Gather insights from customer interactions to improve products, services, and marketing strategies.

7. Collaboration & Coordination

  • Coordinate with internal teams such as operations, accounts, and logistics for smooth travel arrangements.

  • Work closely with tour guides, hotel staff, and transport providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.

  • Participate in team meetings and training programs to improve sales skills and product knowledge.

  • Share feedback and suggestions to optimize processes and enhance customer experience.
