Job Description
Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sampling Tailor (Womens / Mens) to join our garment production team. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in stitching, garment construction, and must be able to understand and work from technical design sheets or sketches with minimal guidance. This is a full-time, on-site position involving hands-on sample development for both men's and women's apparel.
The Sampling Tailor will work closely with the sampling coordinator, fashion designers, and pattern masters to convert creative concepts into accurate, high-quality garment samples.
Key Responsibilities
1. Garment Sample Stitching

Stitch complete garment samples for men’s and/or women’s wear as per the design specifications.

Handle a wide range of fabrics including cotton, denim, silk, georgette, knitwear, etc.

Follow construction techniques and finishing methods suitable to the garment type and material.
2. Design Sheet Interpretation

Read and understand design sheets, tech packs, flat sketches, and pattern notes provided by the design or merchandising team.

Clarify doubts by coordinating with sampling in-charge or designers before starting the sample.

Accurately translate design ideas into stitched samples that match fit, style, and construction details.
3. Sample Development Support

Work with pattern makers to align on pattern placements, cutting, and size adjustments.

Assist in making toiles or mockups for new designs if required.

Provide technical suggestions for design improvement based on practical stitching knowledge.
4. Machine and Hand Sewing Work

Operate industrial sewing machines such as single-needle, overlock, flatlock, button-hole, and bar-tack machines.

Perform hand-sewing techniques like hemming, finishing, and embroidery (if applicable).

Maintain a clean and organized workstation and ensure proper machine handling and safety.
5. Quality and Fit Awareness

Ensure every sample is produced to high-quality standards with precise stitching and proper measurements.

Make adjustments and corrections to the sample as required after trial fittings.

Maintain consistency and accuracy in repeat samples or multiple sample sizes.
