The SAP ABAP Developer must be proficient at ABAP programming and have strong communication skills. In this role, the developer will be working with global members of the various SAP functional teams, security, Basis, and business stakeholders; effective communication is a must. It requires exceptional analytical and troubleshooting skills as Lubrizol’s custom solutions are enhanced or updated.

The developer is recognized as a technical expert within the department and organization regarding ABAP and various SAP technologies.

Responsibilities / Accountabilities:

• Modify SAP advanced business application programming (ABAP) code to correct errors, enhance, or to improve its performance.

• Analyze user needs, gather requirements, design and develop SAP ABAP software solutions, while considering time and cost constraints.
• 
  
• Evaluates new SAP technologies, introduces best practice and process improvement ideas.
• 
  
• Stay knowledgeable of the full suite of SAP offerings - including SAP S/4HANA, Fiori and newly released products.
• 
  
• Provide expert advice to business users and IT project teams regarding ABAP programming and technical solutions.
• 
  
• Prepare thorough technical program documentation, specifications, test conditions, test plans, and test data.
• 
  
• Facilitate the translation of technical/functional requirements into processes and programs that increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the business.
• 
  
• Coordinate SAP software installations and program turnovers with respect to system maintenance windows and minimal business impact.
• 
  
• Evaluate user requirements with regards to security rules, roles and SAP configuration.
• 
  
• Provides expertise for the sake of estimating and budgeting.
• 
  
• Troubleshoot application shortcomings and/or performance issues.
• 
  
• Understands business processes and system configuration.

Requirements (education, experience, competencies, and specific job requirements):

Education / Certification/ Experience and Skills:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• 
  
• Mini. 3+ years working with SAP
• 
  
• Self-starter, ability to work independently
• 
  
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written
• 
  
• Must be proficient at ABAP Programming
• 
  
• Understanding of the standard SAP modules: FI, SD, PP, QM, PM, MM, EWM
• 
  
• Understanding of ODATA and Fiori
• 
  
• Experience with Solution Manager

Desired Qualifications

• Understanding of Agile development methodology

• Experience with OpenText/VIM, Ariba, GTS, EH&S, HCM
